When we talk about fat loss, we are not talking just about dieting alone. In order to achieve fat loss that you can count on and keep after you get to a certain weight, we need to talk about a program.
That is what we need to do in order to lose the weight effectively. We need to have a fat loss program. By a program, I mean you need to incorporate good eating habits, healthy food, exercise and a change of the way you used to view food.
First let’s talk about good eating habits. You should always know what you are putting into your body. You cannot do that if you are always eating out. You do not know what the food is prepared with, how much oil or fat is in it, or for that matter the exact amount of calories.
In order to know what you are putting into your body, you need to cook for yourself. That way you can always know that you are cooking with a certain amount of oil, or you are eating only a certain amount of carbohydrates. You should stick with low fat, high protein foods with lots of vegetables. You can never eat too many vegetables. As far as the carbohydrates, you should eat non processed pasta, not the white stuff. The same rule goes for bread, only whole wheat.
When you eat this way you will stay satisfied for a longer period of time. That way you are less likely to snack in between meals.
Speaking of meals, you should eat more meals of smaller quantity throughout the day. It has been documented that given the same calorie intake, someone that eats 5 -6 meals per day will lose more weight than the person that eats 2-3 meals. You should never skip a meal as you will inevitably end up eating more the next time because you are hungry. You need to eat on a regular basis or your metabolism will slow down.
Exercise is also very important when it comes to a good fat loss program. The exercise will speed up your metabolism and help you to see results faster. This will help to encourage you through the tough times.
When I talk about exercise, I am not saying a full on every day at the gym for 2 hours exercise program. You can see great results from just walking on a daily basis. If you walk for 30 minutes, 5 days per week, and eat right, you will see great results.
When we talk about lifestyle changes, this is where that will come in. Don’t drive to the park that is 5 blocks away, walk there and back instead. When you are shopping take the stairs instead of the elevator.
You must also find things to do in your spare time, chances are, and you ate out of boredom. This is very important. So look for things to occupy your time, a new hobby, gardening, anything to take your mind off eating.
Stick with this basic plan and you will lose weight, there are things you can do in addition, but this is a good start.
