What Causes Warts And How Do You Get Rid Of Them?

When you notice strange bumps on your hands or your feet you might have warts. There are many people that have warts and children are the most prone to getting them. They are easily spread so if you have warts you should take care to not touch anyone else, or even anywhere else on your body. It is interesting to look at what causes warts. They are caused by the human papilloma virus or HPV.

This is the same virus that causes genital warts and there are over 200 strains of this virus. Some cause warts and some cause cancers. Some are, however, undetectable and harmless. The type of HPV you have depends on how susceptible you are to getting the virus. If you have warts on your hands or feet, or you think that your child does, do not panic.

These kinds of warts are harmless and can even be left where they are. If they are annoying you and you want to get them removed you can do this in a number of different ways. The most common way and the cheapest method is to freeze them with liquid nitrogen. This is called cryotherapy. There is also a minor surgery you can get or you can also do laser surgery which is more severe and for bigger warts

Then you can also get a special lotion that you apply to the warts and cover with a bandage. You can simply change the bandage every few days and keep applying the product. This will eventually form a blister and will come off along with the wart.

There are also natural products and remedies that you can use and perhaps these are more effective than the other chemicals. It is certainly less painful and you can get these over the counter. You can apply them each day and then soak the affected area in warm water for about 20 minutes. After this you should use a pumice stone to rub down the area and then you can do this for a few weeks.

It might take a bit longer but you will still get rid of the warts and you will prevent them from spreading to other parts of your body. You might find that this kind of treatment is better for children because it is less painful and less scary.

When you suffer constantly from warts and you usually get a cluster of warts or a mosaic, you should look into the minor surgery options. This could be the best way to get rid of the warts completely and prevent them from coming back.

The human papilloma virus or HPV is a complex virus and because there are so many different versions it does not mean that hand warts, feet warts and genital warts are the same thing. They all vary and aside from this you can also get smooth warts, red warts, clear ones, rough ones and more. There are all different kinds of warts you can get and most are harmless.
