For women, you may want to tone your muscles not to the point of building large ones, thus you may need to consult your trainer as well as to the type of goal you want to achieve and for customized training that is suitable for you as well.

- Cardiovascular exercises. Cardio exercises such as simply walking, cycling, swimming and even sports activities can help you shed off those extra weight that you have and lose those extra fats accumulated in your body as well. Although cardio exercises are meant to burn more calories, they are important before even starting your muscle toning exercises. It is almost impossible to tone your muscles underneath those layers of fats that you may already have, thus make sure to shed off those fast first before trying to tone your muscles.

If you are having a difficulty following a cardio exercise on your own, one good tip to help you start a good cardio and finish it until you have shed those extra fats is to join a fitness bootcamp. This is a fun way of shedding those extra pounds and a good way to enjoy exercise and he outdoors as well.

- Muscle building exercises. To start toning your muscles, there are simple exercises that can help you as well. Bench press, squats and chin ups are among the simple exercises that can work up different muscles in your body. Here are some of the popular muscle building exercises that you may encounter in your exercise routine that can help you tone your muscles.

* Bench press – is an exercise that can help you build the muscles of your chest, your shoulder joints as well as your triceps. If you want a well-toned chest, the bench press is one of the exercises that you might not want to miss.

* Squats – Squats are another strength training exercises that helps you develop and tone your muscles on your thigh, hamstrings, buttocks and hips. It also strengthen the bones of your lower body as well. If you want well-toned legs, you may not want to forget your squats as well.

* Crunches – Crunches are also powerful exercises that can help you tone your muscles in the abdomen. They can be performed with exercise balls, with a chair or with weights. Of course, for those who want to have that six -pack abs, you may not want t forge your crunches.

Keep in mind that these exercises may cause injuries if without proper execution and guidance, so make sure you are well-guided before starting any of these.
