A cardio workout is an integral part of making sure that you are able to lose weight or even just stay healthy. There are a lot of people that do not realize how much work they have to do when they start working on a goal that includes being more healthy.

When you are participating in cardiovascular workouts you want to make sure that you are abiding by the three to five word rule. There are a lot of people that do not even know what this rule is or how they would abide by it.

This rule is basically a gauge to show how hard your cardiovascular system is working. When you know that your body is working hard you can be sure that you are getting in the best possible workout for yourself.

If you can say more than five words easily while you are working out you are not working your body hard enough. When you cannot even say three words you are pushing your body too hard in your workout.

There are a lot of people that think that just because they are on exercise equipment and they are moving their legs they are getting in a good workout. Although being on the equipment and moving is a great start it is not enough.

You have to make sure that your body is being pushed to new limits. When you are able to push your body to new limits you will see the progress that you have been waiting and working so hard for.

There are other people that do not people that do not believe the three to five rule is the correct way to gauge your system. Another great way to gauge how hard you are working is to make sure you can talk but that you also cannot sing.

When you sing you are using a lot of muscles in your cardiovascular system. You have to make sure that these same muscles that you would use for your singing are instead being engaged by your workout.

If you are going to be training for a big race or you are trying to strengthen your cardiovascular system, you should try singing while you are running. When it gets too difficult you have to make sure that you listen to your body and you stop exercising.

Elliptical machines are infamous for a half hearted workout. Because of the nature of the machine, there are many people that think they are working themselves hard enough when they are on the machine, when in reality they are not doing much for their bodies.

When you are not doing much for your body you are only cheating yourself. The goals that you have made and the results that you see are going to be yours and only yours, when you are working out you have to make sure to keep this in mind.

Although the goals that you set for yourself may be hard to accomplish, you have to make sure that you are pushing yourself hard enough. Elliptical machines can engage the necessary muscles and help you achieve your goals if the machine is utilized properly.

When you get on the machine make sure that you are honest about the information that you are typing into the machine. The more that the machine knows about your body the better equipped it will be to adjust your workout accordingly.

You should also not be afraid to adjust your workout by yourself. When you are able to adjust the incline and the speed of the machine you are taking full control of your workout and with that the responsibility to make your workout engaging enough.

If the machine is not engaging a large group of your muscles or if you are not feeling the results that you want, it may be time for a new machine. When you change the machine that you are using you may start to notice a difference in your workout.

It is possible to ensure an excellent workout no matter what machine you are on, but you have to make sure that you are taking responsibility for said workout. Without taking responsibility you will never see the necessary results.

When you are setting goals for yourself make sure that you are taking the time to ensure that the goals are not only plausible but also positive. The goals that you set need to be beneficial, healthy and achievable.
