Most people suffering from panic attacks will tell you that panic attacks are those attacks where they feel that there is a sudden, immense, and uncontrollable fear of losing their mind. Some of the panic attacks are so severe that they interfere with a person’s ability to do daily work. So, does a person suffering from panic attack stay at home? Well, not really. These days, there are many ways in which people can cure panic attacks. Although the word cure would not seem very apt here because the total cure of panic attacks is still not found.
After all the possible treatments in the world, people would still feel that they are not completely cured. Experts believe that it is all in the mind, but when you ask the panic attack patient, he or she will surely appear confused. Yes, a confused state of mind is what most panic attack patients will describe panic attack. Some of the patients feel that they are about to die. There have been instances where a panic attack patient has also committed suicide. Most doctors will give you antidepressants when you have been diagnosed with panic attacks. This can be very disturbing because you have to take these medicines on a regular basis. The moment you stop taking these medications, you will see that the symptoms come back again. You would take these medications diligently for few months and even for few months. Then, one find day, you may ask yourself a question. Am I going to be taking these medications for life? When will I get totally cured from panic attacks? Why aren’t panic attacks not stopping when I stop the medication?
Once you are fed up with the medications, you would turn towards other alternatives that can give you relief from panic attacks. When you read anxiety disorder books or panic attack books, you will understand that there are several other methods that can help in curing panic attacks. Regular exercise, diet control, yoga are some of the natural methods that can help you get rid of panic attacks. In addition to these, you will also find the behavior modification therapies a good way to get rid of panic attacks. When you are trying to get rid of panic attacks, you need to first check if you are really suffering from panic attacks and not any other ailment. The cognitive behavior therapies have been very successful in curing panic attacks these days. In behavior therapy, the patient gets rid of panic attacks by making some modifications in the behavior. In behavior therapy, the patient has to do some breathing and relaxation exercises that have a positive impact on the patient. In cognitive behavior therapy, cause of panic attacks is traced and then those behaviors are replaced with more acceptable behaviors.
As good as the treatment word sounds to the patients, which involves breathing exercising and a simple way to avoid panic attacks, it is equally important to be aware of the fact that, trying to avoid panic attacks by following all these treatments, you would need to be prepared for the positive or negative out come, as these treatments can also backfire. Every therapist will need to keep their patient informed about the good and bad from these treatments.
Yet another natural exercise to avoid panic attacks, which is called Tai Chi exercise. Tai Chi exercise can be done 15 minutes a day which will help you experience the gentle flowing, movements of Tai Chi and help your full body to a gentle and relaxing workout. No more sweating, wheezing or out of breath, in fact you would feel more, peaceful, refreshed and energized.
