Midnight Snacks You’ll Respect in the Morning

It has been discovered where the diet is still simple, as it is in many rural communities, people eat much raw food and are consequently healthier than in the cities.

Journeys into Africa, among natives living in the most primitive way, further support this theory. There, an almost consistent raw food diet prevails and, despite the ills caused by unhygienic conditions, a far healthier physical state exists than in modern “civilized” northern and coastal areas of the world. The conditions found among the peoples of India, China, Australia, and South America further confirm the conclusions that illness is primarily due to incorrect preparation of foods, rather than to the kinds of foods consumed. Hygienic conditions came second and climatic third in their influence on health.

The following are healthy snacks which can be eaten knowing all the correct vitamins and minerals have been preserved.

Don’t go to bed hungry, just eat the right thing.

Fruits

Banana
Apple
Pear
Orange
Dates
Figs
Tangerines
Mango
Grapefruit
Raisins
Grapes
Dried Peaches
Watermelon
Dried Apricots
Honey dew
Fresh Apricots

Cheese And Fruits

Apple slices and pear slices with aged cheeses such as:
Gorgonzola
Camembert
Cheddar
Swiss
Roquefort
Bleu Cheese

Cut the fruit into round slices, and fill the holes with a bit of cheese.

Cucumber Surprises

Slice cucumber thin and spread with:
Raw peanut butter Raw cashew nut butter Cheese
Crushed nuts and currants Caviar

Oatmeal Mix

Mix oatmeal with fruits of any kind and a little milk or none, as desired. May use dried fruit.

Also, use cut up tomatoes with raw oatmeal, oil and seasonings. (Coarse salt, pepper, and oregano or basil leaf)

A kind of Pizza:
1 cup raw oatmeal
2 tomatoes, liquefied in blender
1/2 cup Cheddar or Provolone cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
Coarse salt and dash of oregano

Mix together and heat in a pan until hot.

Quick Supper Dish Wild Rice

1 cup wild rice, soaked overnight
2 cups hot water
2 teaspoons coarse salt

In its own rich coating, rice is especially wealthy in minerals.

Warm rice, which has soaked up the water, and serve with milk, butter or oil. This particular dish with all the vegetables including fresh mushrooms and seasoned with coarse salt and crushed red pepper and some soya sauce is always a great favorite. It can be combined with chicken, pork or beef.

Fried rice is made with this rice or an Italian white rice (Avorio Rice) and mixed with seared scallions and a raw egg.

Apricot Or Prune Whip

2 cups dried apricots or prunes
1/2 cup honey
1 teaspoon lemon juice
2 egg whites, beaten
1/2 cup whipped certified cream

When used for corrective purposes, extremely good for constipation disorders.

Blend all ingredients except cream with a hand beater or an electric blender. Chill and serve with light cream.

Grapefruit A La Honey

Grapefruit, cut in halves Honey

The citrus provides mineral and mineral salts to cleanse the system, and kidneys in particular.

Remove seeds and core grapefruit. Top with honey. Brown (lightly) in broiler using high flame.

Banana, Apple, Blueberry Yum

2 cups washed blueberries
3 teaspoons honey
2 mashed bananas
1 grated apple with skins

Berries are very effective in the treatment of constipation and skin difficulties {teenagers).

Blend bananas, apples and honey, over which you pour blueberries. May use electric blender. Top with certified whipped cream, if desired.

Enjoy all these recipes, knowing they are doing you a lot of good!

Tea Or Coffee

Use Peppermint tea

If iced coffee desired, use one cup of hot coffee with 6 chunks of ice and put into blender. Mix thoroughly. It will taste and look like it had all the fixings in it. Very foamy.
