When you are working out from your home you should make sure that you take the time to understand how to get the most out of your workout. The more that you know about your body the better your workout will be.

First, before you start to workout you should know how important it is to warm up your muscles so you do not stress or fracture anything. You can even hurt you heart if you do not warm up.

Take ten minutes before your workout and gradually increase your heart rate until you reach the target heart rate. Understanding how important your warm up is will prevent you from getting hurt.

After you have adequately warmed up all of your muscles you are ready to start working out. Throughout your workout you should not put yourself in a position in which you will work to hard.

Although you may be anxious to start losing weight you should not push yourself too hard. When you are working out you should remember that the process may be long but it will be well worth it in the end.

Second, after you have warmed up you should start to exercise for twenty to thirty minutes. As you are working from twenty to thirty minutes you will want to stay around 65 percent of your maximum heart rate.

When you exercise at this pace for this amount of time it has been proven time and time again that you will not only be able to burn weight but also keep it off. This is the best way for you to work out when you are on an exercise bike.

This way of working out is a great way for you to start working out on the bike. Biking at this pace is the best beginning biking workout.

If you are pedaling and you feel that you are not able to keep this pace for this amount of time you can lower your intensity and increase the time. If you only can pedal at 50 percent you should stay on the bike for 45 minutes.

Interval training has also been proved to accelerate weight loss. Although interval training may be more difficult you may be able to reap more benefits.

Interval training means that you will have intense mini workouts with recovery periods between each of them. The more that you are able to work out using the interval workout the more beneficial your workouts will be.

So, to have a successful interval workout you should first start with a warm up. After you have adequately warmed up you will begin your interval training.

You should start with an intense effort period lasting 8 seconds. This intense period should be maximizing your efforts.

After you have done the intense portion you should recover for 12 seconds. Do not stop pedaling but you should not be exerting the same amount of effort.

You should do this six times. It means that you will be working out for two minutes.

Repeat this two minute process ten times. This twenty minute workout will give you a great run for your money.

At first this may be very difficult. When you feel that you are completely exhausted you should lower your intensity.

Even if you have to lower your intensity you should try to complete the whole workout. It will be more beneficial for you to complete the workout at a lower intensity than to just stop pedaling in the middle of the workout.

If you feel that this is too easy of a workout you can always increase the amount of time that you spend in your intense period. The intense period can last for as many as 20 seconds.

After you have completed a two minute cycle you should rest for a minute or two. Keep pedaling but do not exert any large amounts of effort.

When you are done with the interval workout you should do a warm down. This warm down process is just as important as the warm up process.

Not a lot of people understand how important a warm down process is. When you take the time to warm down you are giving your muscles a chance to start the recovery process.

Exercising on a stationary bike can be an excellent workout if you know how to do so properly. Take the time to learn what kind of workout work the best for your body and then utilize that knowledge in your everyday life.
