Cartilage regeneration and the use of joint health supplements is a subject of massive interest and importance to anyone suffering with joint problems.
In order to understand the use of supplements to aid cartilage problems, it is useful to fully comprehend what the cartilage is, and what sort of symptoms can be experienced.
The cartilage is a fairly hard wearing, and flexible tissue, which is usually found covering your bones around the joint areas. Without cartilage, our bones would rub together causing great pain and discomfort. This is a very common occurrence for people who do a lot of exercise and if not protected can lead to many people needing knee pain treatment.
However, as much as the cartilage is there to protect us and aid our movement, damaged cartilage can cause many major problems such as severe pain, and even movement problems.
What are the causes?
There are a number of things that can induce cartilage problems such as, sports injuries and arthritis. It can also just be something that runs in the family.
What is certain, is that sufferers sometimes experience symptoms so severe that they will almost try anything to escape the pain associated with cartilage degeneration.
This has led to many wonder drugs, and miracle cures appearing on the market, yet the ones that seem to keep coming up in a positive light during discussions are joint health supplements. What are they, how do they work, and are they really effective when used for cartilage regeneration?
Joints and supplements
Health supplements are not a new invention, and there are many available that claim to aid many different medical issues. The most commonly used supplements when it comes to joint and cartilage problems are supplements containing Glucosamine, and Chondroitin.
Cartilage is constantly breaking down and repairing itself, yet in the case of sufferers, the cartilage breaks down without properly repairing itself.
The use of Glucosamine and Chondroitin in supplement form is said to help the body naturally recreate the chemicals needed for the cartilage to self regenerate.
Glucosamine is believed to help the body form Glycosaminoglycan, which is a special molecule needed to form and repair cartilage, whilst Chondroitin is a chemical associated with strengthening and building up the resistance of cartilage.
Do Joint Health Supplements Help Cartilage Regeneration?
Like many things medicinal effects vary from person to person. Some sufferers have reported great success using supplements, and some have even reported a significant reduction the pain they have to endure.
Unfortunately other sufferers have used these supplements without any positive results. The best advice would be to discuss the use of supplements with your doctor.
If you suffer very badly from the symptoms associated with cartilage degeneration and other conventional medicines have not helped, then this is an avenue definitely worth consideration.
Safe and natural
Because health supplements are made from natural ingredients, there are not usually any major side effects reported as a result of usage.
However as with any form of medicine, be it chemical or natural, we strongly suggest checking with your doctor before taking any form of joint supplement as it may not suit other conditions you may suffer from.
The use of Joint health supplements can help to regenerate the cartilage which is a major factor in the protection of bones in the body. However as with any form of alternative medication the correct advice should be sought before using it.
