There are calorie calculators on the Internet that can help you calculate how many calories you should take in for your weight and activity level in order to gain, maintain or lose weight. Since this is three different numbers, you have to determine the amount to lose weight for fitness enhancement or you will only maintain or gain weight.

The average woman that is 5 foot 2 inches should weigh about 120 to130 pounds, ideally and the calorie intake should be around 1500 to maintain and 1000 to 1200 to lose weight, for example. A man that is taller will have a higher ideal weight and men have a higher daily calorie intake because of their hormones and metabolism.

Once you have found the ideal weight and calorie recommendations, it is easy for you to lose weight and enjoy fitness enhancement, since your metabolism will burn more efficiently with proper calorie intakes and the proper amount of exercise. Keep in mind if you take in extra calories, you need to exercise in order to burn them off if it is above the recommended amount.

For this reason, you may find many people exercise to keep the metabolism burning calories, or to burn off excess which allow them to eat more. The problem is that the calories are slower to burn off than they are to put on. For example, you can eat a cupcake that has 300 calories in about two minutes. To take off that amount of calories, you would need to be on the treadmill for about half an hour. For that reason, many people say it is easier to put it on than to take it off, which is true.

By learning the mathematical equations for calorie control, burning off calories and how much of both you need to do for weight loss, your bottom line will show a loss, which is exactly what you are after in the fitness enhancement for weight loss business.
