Hair loss can be categorized into 3 different types as discussed below.
1. Chronic Telogen Effluvium
The first type of hair loss is known as chronic telogen effluvium which is common in a number of individuals. One can always notice thinning and bald spots which can be seen as patches on the scalp area. This type of hair loss is usually seen in women especially at the time of menstrual cycle as they loose blood during this period. As blood is lost so is the body iron lost which does cause an iron deficiency in most of the women. This is the prime reason why most of the women face hair loss problems.
This type of hair loss may not be instantly but may take a longer period of time to occur. It may take nearly years if iron deficiency when they actually start losing their hair. Although slow but this type of hair loss is considered as permanent and disastrous. It can be stopped if one takes action at the right moment. Eating green leafy vegetables or even raw meat especially with orange juice may help you a lot to stop hair loss. One should avoid getting iron from iron supplements as it may risk danger of being over dosed.
2. Androgenic Hair Loss
Androgenic Hair Loss is another type of baldness and starts with a patch from the front of the fore head and manages to extend to the top of the head. This is one condition of hair loss that is considered as related to genetic. The fact is that if your parents suffer from this type of hair loss, it is likely that you too will suffer from this type of hair loss. Stopping this type of hair loss may be difficult for any one as it is related to genes but there are a number of factors that can in fact help one to overcome it.
There are a number of proven treatments that one can undergo to overcome this particular type of hair loss. One can always try using a number of herbs and DHT blockers so that your hair follicles may not get damaged. One can try herbs like saw palmetto, Dong Quai, Nettle root may be some of the popular names. No matter what ever treatment method you choose, one always have to try sticking to it for at least six months. Any of the FDA approved drugs may also take around six month to work.
3. Hormonal Hair Loss
Hair loss related to Hormone changes is usually considered as temporary conditions which can be treated easily. This is very much common at the time of pregnancy as women undergo hormonal changes when pregnant. Most of the women stop shedding their regular amount of hair when pregnant. After birth the rate may always increase as the hormones changes takes place resulting in shedding of hair.
A number of women also lose hair because of taking hormone called as DHEA. Taking this drug does let women shed their hair much more than normal level. The condition is only considered as temporary as when the hormone level shifts back to normal or if they stop taking drugs then hair fall stops.
