It is the fruit of a type of palm tree which is abundant in Central and South America. Before its popularity, acai berry has been a staple food in Brazil with different ways of preparation. Some are made into juices and ice cream and others are served with tapioca and granola.
One established health benefit from acai berry is its effect as an antioxidant. Antioxidants are very essential in the body to fight and get rid of toxins which are dangerous and pose as an aid to those who are trying to lose weight. Acai berry is also used in detoxification. It is effective in improving digestion, cleansing the intestines, perking up the immune system and preventing certain heart diseases.
There is no specific diet program for acai berry. It is included in your choice of diet program instead. With its health benefits, it works hand in hand with your weight loss regimen in keeping you stay fit while you lose weight. Acai berry also contain amino acids and fatty acids which are helpful in people who are on a diet since it increases metabolism, lowers the appetite and improves digestion.
Studies have shown that acai berry indeed has beneficial effects as an antioxidant. Regular consumption of acai berry enables the body to have adequate antioxidants that help them combat stress and fatigue. Most people who included this in their diet claim that acai berry is effective in lowering their appetite yet they do not feel tired.
The drawback on this diet is that acai berry can be expensive. With its popularity, some internet sites are using acai berry to draw the attention of people and make them susceptible to scams regarding their products. If you are going to order acai berry, avoid making the orders and paying online.
Acai berry is not the diet itself but a complement to whatever diet program you have chosen. However, if the only established health benefit is its use as an antioxidant, there are fruits and vegetables that can provide antioxidants as well. If you have decided to incorporate acai berry into your diet, always keep in mind that it is not the focus of the weight loss program.
