Morning sickens during pregnancy can be a challenge for many women. Although some may not experience morning sickness, some others may have them during their entire pregnancy. Feeling nauseated can be a burden but you can actually find some tips and techniques to help you in dealing with morning sickness and end your feeling sick throughout your pregnancy.
Here are some tips that you might find useful in dealing with morning sickness.
- Do not skip meals or allow yourself to be hungry. An empty stomach can trigger nausea, thus you can eat small meals throughout the day to make sure your stomach is not empty.
- Do not immediately get out of bed in the morning. You may want to eat some crackers first, then take a short rest before trying to get up. Get up slowly too. Do not also lie down after eating as this can also trigger a nauseous feeling.
- Ginger is known to relieve you from feeling sick and nauseated, so have ginger tea ready if you are having morning sickness along with your pregnancy. You can also sniff lemons to help you relieve from the nauseated feeling as well.
- If you are bothered by the smell of food, try to eat cold food as they may not smell stronger compared to hot ones. Avoid smell that can also trigger your nauseous feeling as well. Bland foods may also help you in dealing with morning sickness. Other foods that may be helpful are salty ones such as chips, dry crackers, as well as bread and noodles.
- In dealing with morning sickness, also make sure that you drink water throughout the day. Nausea and vomiting may lead you to loss of fluids in the body and replenishing them every now and then can be a good thing to do. However, drink small amounts but frequently throughout the day and make sure not to drink immediately before or after a meal as this can also trigger nausea and vomiting. In between meals can be the best time for you to take fluids and avoid morning sickness.
- Learn how to relax and be stress-free. Manage fatigue and stress as these can also be triggers for a nauseous feeling. Find some relaxation techniques that can help you ease up your body. Get some fresh air as well. Avoid warm places too. Warm areas can also be triggers for you to feel sick.
- Take your prenatal vitamins and let your doctor know about nausea and vomiting. Vitamin B6 may help in reducing the effect of nausea and that may also help for you. It may also help to take your vitamins with some food or before going to bed as well.
-Avoid foods that may also trigger nausea and vomiting. Spicy foods as well as fatty ones may be hard to digest and can trigger nausea as well, so try to avoid them. Eat healthy as well. This will not only help you calm down your nauseous feeling but will also help nourish your baby despite your morning sickness.
