Conquering the Business World and Your Workout

If you are trying to find a way to sneak in a workout when you are at the office you may not have time for something that is very intense. When you run on a treadmill or when you play a sport you will have to shower and get back into your work clothes.

For a man this does not seem to be terribly difficult. When you are a woman you have to make sure that you gauge the time that it will take to shower, do your hair and your make up and get back into your work clothes.

This does not leave many options when it comes to office workouts. Some women find that it is easiest to workout before they come to work or even after they leave work because it is just to difficult to use the company gym during work.

When you are running into this problem you should try to broaden your horizons. The more creative you get with your workouts inside of the office the better you will feel throughout your day and the more healthy your body will be.

If you can talk to your boss into getting you some workout equipment for your office an elliptical is a great machine to start with. When you have the room and the budget for an elliptical you will notice a lot of differences in your workday.

As you are reading or when you have to go over files you can do so from the comfort of your elliptical. You do not have to push yourself to the point of getting sweaty or even enough to make your heart beat hard and fast.

Instead you can leisurely move your feet while you are reading. This will give your body enough stimulation to keep the muscles engaged and continue to boost your metabolism so you burn more calories throughout the day.

Another great way to find time to squeeze in a workout is by taking your morning messages while you are on the machine. This way you will be able to listen to your secretary and also be moving your body.

Sometimes it is not convenient to get on the machine first thing in the morning. When this is not beneficial you should make sure that you find a way that is beneficial so that you are not putting the machine to waste.

Some people can arrange their office so they are able to talk on the phone from their elliptical. If you know that you are going to be in a phone conference for a long time or even on a long telephone call you can hop on your elliptical.

Whether you are using a headset or the machine is close to your desk does not matter. When you are going to do this you have to make sure that you exert your energy in the direction of your phone call so you do not miss anything important.

If you know that you just are not going to be able to squeeze in any time throughout the day on the machine that you have purchased, you can go an alternate route. Coming in early to the office or leaving the office is a great way to get on the machine.

You have to make sure you are honest with your employer if you try this method. You do not want to end up being clocked in while you are only working out on the machine and not doing any work for your boss.

Tell your boss what your plans are and when you are planning to get on the elliptical in your office. Make sure that there are no misunderstandings about the machine so you cannot get in trouble for having or using the machine.

No matter when you are going on the machine, you should make sure you keep workout clothes nearby. Sometimes taking a gym back with you to work everyday is the best way to ensure you have the proper clothing.

If you think you might be able to sneak some time in during the day you should leave your workout shoes as well. Then you can kick of your work shoes and slide into some supportive comfy shoes.

It does not matter how you get your workout in you just have to make sure that you are getting the physical activity. The more that you know about your body and what you need the more effective you can make your workouts.
