Beauty is largely a subjective opinion. Many factors, from gender and age to nationality affect how one judges what is beautiful. Often, the traits a woman is judged on are the traits that make her a woman. Throughout the world, the feminine features of women are revered. The things that set a woman apart are often what make her unique and beautiful. Nowhere is this truer than when it comes to breasts.
Breasts are one of the first outward signs of when a girl starts to become a woman. They are used to nurture children in a way that makes women unique from men. However, with time, it is only natural that a woman’s breasts may begin to sag. After nursing children and leading a long and active life, it is completely reasonable to expect your breasts to change. However, if you long to see your breasts returned to their full youth and vigor, help is available in the form of breast lift cosmetic surgery.
In this relatively simple procedure, the patient is placed under anesthetic and the surgeon makes an incision beneath the breast and around the aerola. Excess skin is removed from the area and the breast can be repositioned to give the appearance of lift. Furthermore, the areola can be reduced in size.
As science has developed, plastic surgeons have developed a number of different incision techniques to use during the breast lift surgery. While the traditional incision can lead to some minor scarring, new incision techniques can greatly reduce or eliminate any signs of scaring. However, these incisions also result in less freedom in terms of resizing and repositioning the breast. By working with your doctor and explaining exactly what you want from the surgery, they should be able to help you pick the right technique for your specific needs.
As with any surgery, it is important to acknowledge the risks. Complications can ensure; however, a trained professional can minimize these risks and reduce recovery complications. It is important to be upfront with your surgeon about your hopes and expectations with the surgeon. A trained professional should be able to tell you what you can reasonably expect from the surgery itself, through the recovery and all the way to the final result.
During recovery, expect some swelling and tenderness near the incision areas. Your surgeon will most likely schedule a number of follow up exams to track the healing process. After a few months of recovery, the results should become apparent. Unfortunately, breast lifts do not totally cure the effects of aging. No matter how successful the breasts lift, age and gravity will eventually begin to sag the breasts again. However, a well-executed surgery can put off the effects of age for many years, giving you a more satisfying appearance well into the future.
It is important to remember that the things that make you beautiful and feminine go far beyond the surface. However, there is nothing to be ashamed of in wanting to restore some of the youth and vigor to your appearance with a little cosmetic surgery. While there is no substitute for natural beauty, a little plastic surgery can magnify and accentuate this beauty for years to come.
