You are most likely a busy person with a lot of things to do, right? When is there time for exercise? Fortunately, with a little effort and self-examination, you can find the time for exercise, just like there is a time for sleeping and eating. You have to make it a priority if you want it to be as convenient for you as sleeping and eating. Exercising has to become a part of who you are. No one says that you have to do it every day, just enough to make it a regular part of your life. I remind my Boot Camp Pomona clients that even 3 days per week will be enough to make a huge impact on your long-term health. Just remember to break it up and some cardiovascular as well as strength building routines. In the real world, you health cannot wait. Your body is just going to keep going downhill until you make the decision to do something about it. If you are busy, there is hope for squeezing an exercise routine into your life.
It may not seem possible, but there is a way to pull it off. Besides being a priority, exercise needs to become a regular habit in your daily activities. This can actually help you to get your required amount. Focus on taking the stairs instead of the elevator, or parking at the other end of the parking lot. There are many ways to incorporate movement into your day. Try listening to some upbeat music while doing your chores so that you can really get into the groove of moving, scrubbing, sweeping, and moping. This can be the equivalent to one really great cardiovascular workout. Perhaps you own a treadmill, put it to use while getting up an extra 30 minutes earlier in the morning. You can also choose to watch television while exercising; it helps to burn more calories. Think of an activity that you really enjoy doing, be it dancing, aerobics, walking, or running. There is something out there that you are bound to enjoy. Once you find something that you enjoy about exercising, it will make it that much easier to incorporate into your lifestyle.
Here’s another idea. How about turning off the television and taking a nice, brisk walk outdoors. Perhaps you have just had a baby and just wish that you could lose that excess baby fat. All you have to do is strap him or her in the stroller and when nap time rolls around, take him/her out for a stroll while you get some much needed exercise. Incorporating the family into your workout routine is a great way to bond and to help everyone you care for happy and healthy.
There are tons of ways to squeeze exercise into a busy life. Believe me, if the very busy members of my Boot Camp Pomona program can find the time to workout with me then anyone can make a little extra time to do what’s right for their body. Finding time to exercise just takes a small amount of effort on your part. The exercise will then take care of itself, giving twice as much back to you as you put into it. As you begin to exercise, it may seem a little difficult at first. Within a short amount of time, usually as little as 2 weeks, it becomes increasingly easier to do and much more of a habit than a hassle. Exercise is beneficial in so many different ways. If you do not take the time to do it, you are missing out.
