Asbestos Side Effects – Are You Suffering?

Many people have unknowingly been exposed to asbestos. Some people may think that exposure is only a problem for those working in certain fields or not wearing the proper equipment. Asbestos however, is found in many places, including schools that your young children may attend. Were they exposed to enough levels to cause harm? Sometimes, people also fail to recognize asbestos side effects when they are suffering from a nagging, dry cough. They may believe that their symptoms are related to something else that will eventually go away. The worst thing that you can do is neglect medical problems. Surgical options entail Extrapleural Pneumonectomy (EPP) which involves the removal of the affected lung along with its linings and the associated linings of the heart and diaphragm. Although EPP is an aggressive surgery, it has the best record for removing the maximum number of tumor cells and has been associated consistently with long-term, disease-free survival. Following surgery, radiation to the chest area is used to achieve local control, and chemotherapy is used to achieve systematic control.

Oncology treatments most commonly refer to chemotherapy. To deliver chemotherapy to the body, the most common method is to inject it into a vein.
