Allergies and Heavy Metals

Allergy is a disorder of the immune system often also referred to as atopy. Strictly, allergy is one of four forms of hypersensitivity to normally harmless environmental substances known as allergens. It is characterized by excessive activation of certain white blood cells called mast cells and basophils by a type of antibody known as IgE, resulting in extreme inflammatory response. Common allergic reactions include eczema, hives, hay fever, asthma, runny nose, watery eyes, impaired mental clarity and itchiness. In some people, severe allergies to environmental or dietary allergens or to medication may result in life-threatening anaphylactic reactions and potentially death. Today allergies affect 1 out of every 3 people, which makes it a major concern in our society today.

Allergies can be caused by a variety factors but can be narrowed down to two basic categories, host and environmental factors. The host factors would include heredity, sex, race, and age with heredity being by far the most significant. The environmental factors are pretty wide and diverse but they include: pollen, dust, mold, pollutants, contaminants, heavy metals, food, insect stings and reactions to medications. You can be allergic to almost anything and the symptoms can vary almost as widely.

Toxic heavy metals which include Mercury, Lead, Aluminum, Copper, Tin, Arsenic, Cadmium and many more are ubiquitous in our environment and everyone will have a toxic heavy metal load the only questions are how much and how it is affecting you? For most people the main source of heavy metal contamination comes from their dental amalgams. These amalgams are made up of a combination of heavy metals including Mercury, Silver, Tin, Zinc and Copper. Mercury, which is a neurotoxin, is one of the most toxic elements in our environment and dentists have been putting it directly into our bodies for decades. Over time the amalgam will become soft and breakdown, slowly releasing the toxic heavy metals into our circulatory system which deposits it throughout our bodies including organs and the brain. Research has shown 90% of the population is allergic to Mercury and over 95% are allergic to Copper. The Mercury from a mothers amalgam can be passed to her infant. When these metals are present in our system our bodies will react and quite often its in the form of an allergy attack. You also become more susceptible to invasive fungal infections, kidney and bladder infections, growth and hormonal disorders, thyroid dysfunction digestive ailments, migraine headaches, multiple sclerosis, degenerative brain diseases, sinus, ear and lung infections.

There are many things you can do to help prevent or at least alleviate heavy metal toxicity and therefore allergic reactions to them. If possible have your dental amalgams removed or at least replaced, limit your heavy metal contact points including aluminum cookware, antiperspirants, metal food containers, hair dyes, household cleaners, beauty products etc. But what do you do about the heavy metals that have already entered your body? There are many detoxifiers that you can use including chemicals like DMSA and DMPS but their affinity is very limited and both are very harsh on your system. Cilantro and Chlorella are both natural products but they are fairly weak chelators and are only attracted to a couple of metals. In my opinion the most effective toxic heavy metal chelator on the market is EDTA. EDTA has a very broad affinity so it is attracted to a wide range of heavy metals plus it has an extremely low toxicity level so it is very safe. Until now the only way to get the benefits of EDTA was through an expensive and time consuming I.V. or from very ineffective oral products. Kelatox EDTA suppositories takes care of both of these problems. Kelatox is 75% less expensive and far less time consuming than I.V. EDTA and it is over 15 times more effective than Oral EDTA. Plus it is far safer.
