When a person is suffering from a weight gain particularly those who are already obese it is not surprising to note that they have a possible disease known as diabetes. This is also a similar case for people who are not overweight but have been suffering from diabetes. It would mean that they have to have an insulin therapy which would associate weight gain in the process. No need to worry, there are actually some measures you can take

Insulin is a hormone that helps regulate the absorption of glucose. In such cases, weight gain is already synonymous or to be expected when one needs to take insulin. The higher level of insulin usually results in better control of the sugar level but the glucose gets into the cell and not discarded as urine and more often than not they are stored in the body as fat. The problem on weight gain starts when an individual do not make any alteration on their diet as their increase of insulin intake rises.

There are some measures one may take in order to benefits from insulin and still manage to befriend your weighing scale. The first thing a dieter should do is to choose their diet plan well meaning consuming more healthy foods and also engaging in a daily physical activity.

At this point, knowing how much calories you take in is important. During insulin intake the lesser calories you take would make the weight gain problem tip off to your liking. It is actually an easy task. Start by filling up your grocery cupboard with fruits, vegetables and high fiber foods. This is also the point where one needs to take serious attention in practicing portion controls and avoiding coming back for second servings of food. It is also helpful to trade off carbonated drinks and sodas with pure drinking of water. To know more on the details on how to lower the calories in your meal, try consulting with a dietician.

It has always been said that one must eat like a king during breakfast. This is actually true, we need that burst of calories in the morning to get our metabolic rate on the go. During sleep, our metabolism slows down hence it needs to be fueled up in the morning with the right breakfast meal.

Exercise is one of the most beneficial things one can do for their body. As a matter of fact, one can even just engage in physical activity daily to keep their blood sugar level low and burn calories in the process. Even as simple as walking already counts as a beneficial tool in lowering your blood sugar level. So imagine just how much more beneficial it would be if you would bring your physical activity to a higher level such as those that includes running, bicycling or engaging in your favorite type of sports.

Controlling your sugar level may sound easy but this does not provide the permission to self-medicate. Ask your doctor which medicines could help you fight off both diabetes and weight gain. Some medicines have been known to result in such but it would still be for your best interest to seek professional and expert advice on the matter.
